On a cold and crisp afternoon the 12 men of Gwent were getting ready to defend their fortress of Cwmbran stadium against a young and energetic team from Cardiff Uni.
The game started off well with gwent dominating possession and play. We went 1-0 up off a short corner with Jamie (Redknapp) Robinson doing what he does best and sneaking in from the back post. It looked plain sailing as Gwent was well on top with chances coming every few mins. Cardiff then scored against the run off play which give gwent the kick up the backside they needed.
Defence locked its doors and it wasnt long before Gwent was back up the other end netting again this time through Adam (salah) Saunders. Shorty after after some well worked play from defence through to midfield a few skillful moments of madness and the ball was in the net yet again. This time from Steve ( Bowser) boden. Half time came and it was the worst timing for Gwent as at the start of the second half knew they were the better team and dropped down to 2nd gear.
Cardiff Uni then scored off a short corner. 3-2. The game went in pretty much like the 1st half but lacked a bit of concentration all round. As Cardiff the scored again. 3-3. With the time ticking away gwent never knows when to quit and kept digging for the winner. Chances came and went 1 after another. At 5 mins left Gwent won a penalty flick. Everyone looking around who was going to take it, but then a shining light appeared above an unlikely hero. The captain Owen (the hitman) Harris had taken up the spot. There was a tense atmosphere all around the pitch. No one could understand why Owen was taking it. Then to prove he has what it takes and doesn't bow down to pressure fires the ball into the goal with a cracking flick to be proud of. The game finished 4-3 to Gwent 2s.
