The Ladies' Fourth team travelled to Lampeter today, for their last match before Christmas. We didn't quite manage to get a full team to travel but those who did showed great commitment and resilience. Particular thanks to Menna and Ella for coming at the last minute, and to Cath for umpiring.
We started strongly and won almost every 50-50 ball during the first half. We conceded quite a few goals but continued to play well as a team and made chances when attacking. Players were asked to play in unfamiliar positions, but showed the ability to adapt and support each other.
This season has been tough so far. It has been difficult to get a regular team out, however everyone who has played has contributed well and added strings to their bow (I have been a post player for the first time and am now a whizz at flinging my mask).
Many youngsters have made their debut to senior hockey, have survived the baptism of fire and returned for more. I am looking forward to the second half of the season, as they have learned so much.
Thanks to the parents for their support - great to have you cheering us on.
